Pre-Loved's (Second Annual) Secondhand Industry Income Survey!
Can you spare 10 minutes to help create an income benchmark for independent secondhand sellers?
Hey hi hello! I’ve got a question for you this week, can you take 10 minutes to help create an income benchmark for independent secondhand sellers?
How much do secondhand sellers really earn? Turns out, we’re all learning that answer! I want to help:
Last year, Pre-Loved’s readers helped us do something the secondhand industry had never done before: put real numbers on the earnings of running a resale business.
What we found was eye-opening — and a little uncomfortable. 81% of surveyed full-time dealers earn below living wage, working long hours. Only 34.9% discuss pricing strategy with their peers, and just 31.7% talk profit or salary with other business owners. That means roughly 65% of dealers are flying solo on their finances—constantly second-guessing their prices and profits while colleagues do the exact same thing.
Now it’s time to find out what’s changed.
Pre-Loved is launching the 2026 Secondhand Industry Income Survey — and this year (the second annual), we can do something we couldn’t before: track trends. Are dealer incomes improving? Are more sellers diversifying their income streams and finding more sustainable models? Is the financial isolation that affects so many solopreneurs starting to crack?
We won’t know until you tell us:
This survey is anonymous, takes 10 minutes, and covers income, hours worked, business models, and more.
Thanks in advance for taking the time! One thing last year’s findings made crystal clear: the dealers who talk about money make better business decisions. This survey is one way to start that conversation, so share it with a fellow seller!
I’ll see you in the results in a few weeks.

I found last year’s results interesting- looking forward to this year’s! I’m just an interested consumer so I won’t take the survey😊
